Grain Cleaning Machine (Air-Screen Cleaner)

Overview

The air-screen cleaner is the machine that makes everything after it work. Grain enters the hopper, is metered onto oscillating screens, and is separated by size while air lifts out dust, chaff and light material.

Without this stage, screens downstream blind over, straw wraps shafts and every machine in the plant works harder than it should. It is the cheapest capacity you will ever add to a cleaning line.

What it removes

Dust, chaff, straw and husk fragments, sand and soil, oversized material such as cobs and stones bigger than the screen apertures, and undersized broken grain via the under-screen fraction.

Stones of the same size as the grain stay in — that is the job of a destoner, followed by a gravity separator for density grading.

Screens and settings

Screen apertures, screen inclination, eccentric amplitude and air volume are all set for the material. Marked positions matter: a plant running wheat, corn and soybean needs to return to a known setting, not start again from scratch each time.

Choosing one

We need the material, its bulk density, the contamination you can see, the throughput in tonnes per hour and the available space. Performance is then confirmed for your grain in the technical agreement rather than promised from a catalogue.
